Healthcare Policy and Management is a contemporary and demand-oriented master’s program at Ilia State University, focused on preparing future leaders and managers. Employment Opportunities

Program graduates can be employed:

  • In state and private healthcare organizations, at local and international levels
  • In managerial, analytical, and consulting positions in ministries, medical institutions, and insurance companies

Program graduates can continue their studies at the doctoral level.

The scope of activity for program graduates includes management, policy planning, program and project administration, quality management, and analytics.

Admission to the master’s educational program “Healthcare Policy and Management” is based on general master’s examination results and internal university examinations.

Applicants who have obtained a bachelor’s degree in any field (preferably, but not mandatory – 0412 Finance, Banking and Insurance/0413 Management and Administration/0414 Marketing and Advertising/0311 Economics/091 Healthcare fields) and possess English language skills (reading ability) at a minimum B2 level are admitted to the program.

To confirm English language competency, candidates must pass an examination administered by the university (mandatory only to confirm reading ability at B2 level), or present one of the following documents confirming English language competency:

  1. a) Official internationally recognized language certificate showing B2 or higher level according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR):
  • Cambridge examinations: Cambridge English Scale – 160-180; IELTS – Bands 5.5, Cambridge First, FCE, BEC Vantage, ILEC – Pass with B2; Aptis Test
  • Pearson Tests: PTE General, Level 3; PTE Academic 59-75
  • TOEFL iBT 72
  • EF SET: 51-60
  • Duolingo: 90-115
  1. b) Certificate issued by the National Assessment and Examinations Center – Certus
  2. c) Diploma confirming completion of an English-language bachelor’s program, indicating that the language of instruction was English

Within the Healthcare Policy and Management master’s program, students must accumulate a total of 120 credits/ECTS to obtain the qualification.

  • Mandatory courses – 78 ECTS
  • Elective courses – 24 ECTS
  • Master’s thesis – 18 ECTS

 

The curriculum combines healthcare-specific courses with general management training. For example, mandatory courses include “Healthcare Policy”, which offers students a systematic view of healthcare models and reforms, and “Healthcare Economics”, which provides a study of basic principles of economic analysis and budgeting. The program structure combines theoretical and practical components through contemporary teaching methods.
